Having an “about me” page is kind of a standard thing on a blog, but I hate it. I know what you’re thinking: this guy has a lot to say on his blog about marketing so shouldn’t he be able to sell us on, you know, himself? If he can’t, isn’t that a little… inauthentic?
I truly suck at this part. I’ll talk all day about marketing strategy, design, copywriting, branding, marketing channels, social media… but I really hate talking about me.
But since you read this far….
The basics: family guy (married with a couple of kids), New Englander, didn’t grow up going to church, but I now work for a church as the Communications Director (a.k.a., “marketing guy”). I follow Jesus, and strive to get closer to Him in my life. I don’t believe that faith is something to have, it’s something to live. My favorite verse from the Bible:
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
I worked for about 20 years in the marketplace, in a variety of marketing roles in technology, retail banking, and education sectors… then started working for Grace Chapel. I’m on the board of a non-profit that works in Haiti. I like being outdoors, running, skiing, biking. I play some tennis in my spare time. Love cars, and consider car reviews to be a legitimate form of literature (especially this one.)
